There are times throughout our lives where we face new beginnings. Moving house, changing jobs, the start or end of a relationship. This can bring about a time for reflection, the possibilities of the ‘what ifs’ and ‘if onlys’. Some people embrace change, step over the threshold to the new phase without batting an eyelid. For others, this can be a time filled with anxiety at what may lie ahead. Some people are naturally able to share these feelings with those close to them, seeking solace and comfort and are grateful when this is unconditionally provided. Some feel too vulnerable or proud to express fear of what this new landscape might bring.
Standing still is not usually an option, because we know that life goes on. Here are some ideas to help during this transitional period:
Think positively - try to consider the plus points of your new terrain and to keep these at the front of your mind.
Consider doing more of what makes you feel happy - exercise, meditation, meeting up with friends or even bingeing on the odd box set.
Eat and drink healthily - take the opportunity to reevaluate your dietary habits and find new habits that are good for your wellbeing.
